Ithaca's Winter Recess celebrates public school teachers and school employees with entertainment, activities, family fun and discounts throughout the community. Last year, more than 2,500 educators and their families took part in the celebration. Now in its third year, Winter Recess is bigger and better than ever. You'll discover a discounted week of outdoor recreation, indoor relaxation and entertaining education. We've put the whole city on sale, just for you.
Winter Recess is open to teachers, district employees and their guests. Bring your school ID, your union membership, or a note from your principal and you're in. That's it. When you arrive, your VIP pass—rather, your "VIT" (Very Important Teacher) Pass—will be waiting. It's your key to the city, unlocking a packed calendar of daily activities. Enjoy communitywide discounts on just about everything: lodging, dining, shopping, entertainment—the works. Come for the day or for the week. Invite your friends, family, or a group of coworkers. Just kick back, relax and enjoy your stay.
